Cowboys Cap Situation - Rule of 51 Applied - $122.1 million after first 4 cuts
As of the end of the day on Monday, using the Salary Cap Rule of 51 (only count your Top 51 Roster players during Offseason) the Cowboys Cap for active players was $131,313,000 with the last nine Roster players all having $405,000 as their Cap value, then you add in $5,928,000 in Dead Money from 2010 Cuts and the total Cap is $137,241,000 as a starting point.

For every cut player the Cap impact will be the combination of three figures 1) the cut player's 2011 Salary, plus 2) the cut player's 2011 Roster Bonus, minus 3) $405,000 for the Cap figure of the new 51st player in the Top 51.

Cutting Leonard Davis reduced the Cap by his $6 million Salary
Cutting Roy Williams reduced the Cap by his $5.11 million Salary
Cutting Marion barber reduced the Cap by his $4.25 million Salary plus his $500,000 Roster Bonus
Cutting Kris Brown reduced the Cap by his $865,000 Salary

After adding four $405,000 players to the bottom of the Cap replacing the three cuts, the new Cowboys Cap Total after those four cuts is $122,136,000

I read we're about 700k under the cap, and that was pending the restructred deals of Romo, Ware and Austin

We'll be in good shape with the cap

Doesn't really matter to me.

I'm all but giving up on paying attention to cap situations. Teams can manipulate that fucker any way they want to. Stephen Jones is a master at this.

If he's such a master of it, how come the cap situation is in the way that is? *taking up some of the slack left by sbk's exit*
