IRVING, Texas -- Several Cowboys players received questions about the hatred the New York Giants have for them.
Giants defensive end Justin Tuck called Cowboys Stadium a dump after winning the first game there in 2008. This week, Tuck reiterated the stance.
"He says that because maybe he wants to play here," DeMarcus Ware said of Tuck. "Everybody wants to play for the Cowboys. If I wasn't playing for Cowboys I would call it that too because I want to play for them."
Over the years the trash talk in the series has come mainly from Brandon Jacobs and Tuck. Receiver Patrick Crayton would take up for the Cowboys when he played here.
Things haven't simmered down between the teams.
"That's him," cornerback Mike Jenkins said of Jacobs. "That’s what you get from him. He is a bully."
But the facts are the Giants have won the two games at Cowboys Stadium. Now, there is so much on the line this week with the Cowboys holding a one-game lead over the Giants with four games to play in the season.
"I hate anytime that we play them," Ware said. "It's just not the Giants, because guess what, the team is trying to come in here and take your manhood. So it don't matter who you're playing. It's sort of like a battle, gladiator against gladiator, who wants it the most. It's not just the Giants, so there is a lot at stake. You're playing for first place and you got to get out there and play hard."
Asked whether the Cowboys get their manhood back by beating the Giants on Sunday night, Ware said, "we've got to figure out how to get that back."
