IRVING, Texas -- Mike Jenkins is looking at least a three-game absence because of a hamstring injury suffered at Philadelphia, but the Cowboys do not expect a drop off when they turn to Orlando Scandrick this week against Seattle.

Scandrick, who was not in a talkative mood Wednesday, started the season opener at left cornerback, filling in for an injured Terence Newman. Against the Seahawks, Scandrick will start at right cornerback in Jenkins’ absence.

“Not a whole lot different,” coach Jason Garrett said of cornerbacks’ responsibilities on either side of the field. Those guys are used to playing in different spots, particularly Orlando, who plays so much inside. He’s played inside. He’s played outside. He’ll probably have some comfort level wherever we line him up.”

The Cowboys hope Scandrick can last a little longer than he did against the New York Jets when he suffered a high ankle sprain in the first half that cost him three games.

“He can stand up and cover the best of them,” safety Abram Elam said.
