Cowboys to say no to Randy Moss again

Todd Archer

A few weeks ago Jerry Jones somewhat jokingly apologized to Randy Moss for not selecting the wide receiver in the first round of the 1998 draft.

Maybe he will have to apologize to him again for not claiming him on waivers.

Minnesota is expected to waive Moss today, although it seems Brad Childress' announcement Monday came as a surprise to the Vikings' front office, making him available to every team in the league, but on his radio show on The Fan Tuesday morning, Jones said the club would pass.

Based on their 1-6 record, the Cowboys are third in the claiming process behind Buffalo and Carolina.

Whew.

Claiming Moss would have made sense if he played on the offensive line or safety, but the Cowboys do not need more wide receivers. They're fine with Miles Austin, Roy Williams and Dez Bryant. If any team claims Moss, they are on the hook for the final nine weeks of his salary. If not, then Minnesota has to pay him the remainder of the money.

Could this have been an NBA-like move made by the Patriots where a player is cut with the wink-wink, nod-nod they'll bring him back in 30 days? It's a huge conspiracy theory, obviously, but think about it: they trade Moss to Minnesota for a third-round pick. He sticks with them for about a month, gets cut and now the Patriots are free to get him back if they want.

Nah, I'm not going there either, but it's fun to talk about.

Well we had our chance in '98. I'm not sure if we would have won a Superbowl, but he would have been a lot more fun to watch than the 8 sack a year crybaby.

If I were the Colts, I would strongly consider claiming him.

They could use him this year and it keeps him away from the Patriots.

That would be a good idea but he's obviously a huge headcase.

other teams i can see being a fit would be the Rams and the Cheifs the only thing with these teams r that they have a

great bunch of young guys and maybe they wouldn't want an character like moss in their locker room. Other than that dont

really know it's gonna be interesting to see where he goes.

San Diego needs him badly. With Jackson on the outs and everyone else injured they have no one but Crayton to throw the ball to.

Some idiot will sign him and he'll do the same thing there.

It would've been Jones had he not been burned by TO, Tank, and Pacman.

Can some of you quit with the freaking Moss love?

The guy is not a great player anymore. He's not even a good player anymore. He's a f'in turd too.

Oh, and he has ZERO super bowl rings. Really hurt New England to dump him didnt it? Really "improved" Minnesota to trade for him didnt it?

I cant believe Jeff Fisher just claimed this guy.

New England got a 3rd rounder for him so it didn't hurt them at all. What did they trade for him initially, a 7th?

Wait. I'm supposed to take player evaluations from a guy who thought the 2010 Cowboys were loaded and ready to make a run?

Uh, no.

Fine, go load up your teams with the randy Moss' of the world, lets see how much you win.

3rd team in 5 weeks pretty much says it all at this point.

Not when it counts. It has been proven.

And I am also sick of the Fisher love as well.
