When the kicker leads the special teams in tackles, there is a problem.

That happened to the Dallas Cowboys in the season-opening loss at Washington. Kicker David Buehler had to make two tackles to stop Devin Thomas , who had returns of 42 and 34 yards. The longer returned blunted some of the energy the Cowboys had gained after their lone score, a four-yard pass to Miles Austin in the third quarter.

Buehler also missed a 34-yard field-goal try in the second quarter. Punter Mat McBriar put three of his six punts inside the Redskins' 20, but he also had two touchbacks.
