According to a story on TMZ.com, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and Candace Crawford will have their wedding on May 28 at the Arlington Hall in Lee Park in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas. The Dallas Observer also has a copy of the wedding invitation that confirms TMZ.com's story.
Crawford was interviewed on Good Morning Texas on WFAA-TV in Dallas on Wednesday morning, but didn't give any details on when the wedding was to take place other than to say it would be "before next football season."
"Um, honestly we’re trying to keep it a very private and personal day," Crawford said. "I’m one of those girls that loves wedding talk, so I would hate myself right now if I was watching TV cause I’d want to hear about the details, and the dress and the flowers. … We’re just trying to keep it really sacred and personal."
Under the NFL's current lockout, the Dallas Cowboys do not have a schedule of workouts for their players, so there would not be a conflict. But teammates can organize practices on their own. One can assume the players wouldn't have workouts planned for themselves over the Memorial Day weekend.
Crawford did discuss some frustration over how the NFL labor dispute has affected the couple's plans.
"This lockout has been quite a dent in the honeymoon idea," Crawford said. "We’ll see. We haven’t really gotten there yet. We’re taking a day at a time with the lockout. We’re even sure if we’re gonna get to go (on) one."
As for his life as an amateur golfer, Romo will compete in the 18-hole local qualifying round at Stonebridge Ranch and Country Club in McKinney no May 9. If he advances, he would have to survive a second 36-hole round in order to make the field at the U.S. Open, which will take place June 16-19 at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md.
