Dallas Cowboys running back Tashard Choice, gregarious when things are going well, went silent today and refused multiple interview requests.
Choice has fallen out of the offensive planning. He has not handled the football in each of the last two games as the Cowboys have concentrated on Marion Barber and Feix Jones at running back.
Choice gave the Cowboys good reason to cut him out of the offense. His fumble on the final play of the first half in the opening-game loss at Washington stands as one of the most significant plays of the season. Redskins' cornerback DeAngelo Hall returned the fumble 23 yards for a touchdown.
Since the fumble, Choice has handled the ball seven times and produced 18 yards in total offense. He remains a constant on special teams.
``He (Choice) understands that at different times over the course of the season he's going to get some opportunities and other times he's not going to get quite as many,'' offensive coordinator Jason Garreett said. ``He's one of those guys that loves to play football, very passionate about it, plays with great emotion and enthusiasm. He gets himself ready to play every week. When he gets an opportunity, he usually comes through.''
