IRVING - Suddenly, no one is talking about Cowboys running back Felix Jones' injured hamstring this week.

That's what happens when quarterback Tony Romo injures his throwing hand.

Jones didn't practice last week but was able to play Saturday against Philadelphia. He had felt tightness in his hamstring on his final carry the week before at Tampa Bay, and the Cowboys were cautious with Jones all week considering the lack of depth behind him.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said he wasn't surprised that Felix Jones was able to play against the Eagles after not practicing.

"Felix has been around here for a few years now. We understand what he's all about," Garrett said. "He did a great job managing that [hamstring] last week."

Once the Cowboys learned that the Giants had won Saturday afternoon, rendering their game against Philadelphia meaningless in terms of deciding the NFC East champion, they took Jones out just to be safe.

While Jones was in the game against the Eagles, however, he looked sharp. He showed his usual burst and made sharp cuts, running for 24 yards on four carries.

The Cowboys feel confident that Jones can start Sunday night at the Giants and not be limited.

"We think by limiting Felix to about 8 or 10 plays the other night," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Monday on KTCK-AM, "we've got him in good shape."

Jones looked sharp when he was out there, didnt look slowed or limited to me at all. They did the right thing by yanking him once they knew the game didnt matter though. He should be 100% (or very close) for the Giants game.
