Dallas Cowboys' players will respond to the lockout by conducting their own workouts in April, reserve quarterback Stephen McGee said on Monday.

McGee spoke at a Fellowship for Christian Athletes event in Amarillo. He told the Amarillo Globe-News that quarterback Tony Romo and tight end Jason Witten will organize the workouts.

``We are going to find a way to get work in,'' McGee told the newspaper. ``The off-season work is always very important even if it's just doing light 7-on-7s to get refreshed. The playbooks are really thick in the NFL. There's a lot of work that needs to be done.

``There's going to be an NFL season. There's got to be.''

So will they be working out at some local Dallas park? They are going to have to reserve some non-NFL field and hire security or fans will be bothering them.

Unless, Romo has a big ol grass field on his property ?

There are people who own fields that are already charging rental fees to NFL players who feel like practicing on their own.

These workouts figure to be lame and non productive.

Like they're gonna risk an injury right now.

It'll be best for the QB's and receivers. I'll be interested in seeing Dez's participation.

For the defensive guys, yeah, it's a waste of time.

Still, better than nothing.
