IRVING -- Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has talked before about how Dez Bryant needs to continue to develop his route running to make him a more-complete receiver. But Jones apparently doesn't have a problem with Laurent Robinson's routes as a receiver.
Jones said Friday morning on his radio show on 105.3 FM that Robinson does a good job of running routes and it's helped him become a valued contributor to the offense in his short time with the Cowboys.
"His teammates and coaches have a lot of confidence in him. He's proved himself to them," Jones said. "He does know where to go and the value of running correct routes. He does understand that if the ball doesn't come to him that if he's run a correct route he will have pulled the coverage for somebody else. He gets it. He's excellent.
"He really does have inordinate speed and has real good ability to do the fundamental thing you want a receiver to do and that's catch the football. He can do all of that. He had various limitations regarding injuries in his career. They haven't all been the same. He's not the first player to have that. Maybe the law of averages is going to catch up with him because he had those nicks in his first three years in the NFL. Maybe he'll not have them with us."
