Terence Newman is the one player most Dallas Cowboys fans want to see gone. Last summer, during the hurried free-agency period, the Cowboys failed to sign Nnamdi Asomugha as a possible replacement, though team officials, specifically Jerry Jones, say Newman would have stayed.

After the 2011 season -- when Newman led the team with four pass interference penalties, allowed 329 yards-after-catch and had 77 opposing quarterback targets -- it might finally be time for the Cowboys to let him go.

On the field, Newman played well early and lost confidence as the season progressed. He played more snaps than any corner on the team, 829, allowed the fifth most YAC in the NFL and was tied for fifth in pass interference calls. Asomugha, by the way, was flagged three times for PIs.

Newman is gone plain and simple. Only way i think he stays is Dallas fails to get any CB in FA or the draft. Or maybe if he somehow turns into a FS at a reduced cap which wont happen. So yeah hes gone.

Jerry Jones will do everything in his power to keep Terence Newman on the team.

Newman is Jones' stake in the ground during the entire Bill Parcells' led run. Jones gave him a huge contract after 2009, and to release him now would be doubly admitting failure that he was wrong in 2003 and wrong again when he extended him.

Jerry Jones has a history of throwing good money after bad to prove a point.

Pretty sure he aint gonna be here, unless he is cut and then resigned later to a much lesser deal, or agrees to some sort of major restructuring.

I'd put money on he simply wont be here.

The team does send messages to those kind of players.

They just sent Spencer a nice message last week.
