Team's defensive coordinator targets are hot commodities around the NFL
By GERRY FRALEY / The Dallas Morning News

The Cowboys must move quickly if they want Vic Fangio or Greg Manusky as their next defensive coordinator.
Both interviewed with coach Jason Garrett for the position this week: Fangio on Monday and Manusky on Wednesday. Both could have offers from other clubs by the weekend.
NFL.com reported Fangio is expected to take the defensive coordinator job on the staff of new San Francisco coach Jim Harbaugh. Fangio served as the defensive coordinator on Harbaugh's staff at Stanford this season.
Manusky has become a hot commodity on the coaching market. He interviewed for a defensive coordinator job with Arizona on Tuesday, and will meet with San Diego coach Norv Turner on Thursday. Manusky also interviewed last week with Carolina for its now-filled head coaching position but could be brought back to talk about a spot on coach Ron Rivera's staff.
San Diego reportedly is eager to bring back Manusky, who coached linebackers for the Chargers from 2002-06.
Manusky left the Chargers on Feb. 1, 2007, to become San Francisco's defensive coordinator. According to published reports, had Manusky remained with the Chargers for one more week, he would have been the top choice to replace defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. Phillips moved to the Cowboys as coach on Feb. 8, 2007.
Manusky's agent, Gary O'Hagen, declined to comment on his client's growing appeal. Manusky remains under contract to San Francisco, but Harbaugh has given him permission to pursue another job.
Paul Pasqualoni, the Cowboys' defensive coordinator for the final eight games this season, is also a candidate for the position.
