Assuming Jason Garrett is the next head coach, do you think he'll hire an offensive coordinator as well?

(Editor's Note: Each day we will take the 2 best questions for our staff writers to answer from the Mailbag. "Click here" to email questions now.)

MARK THOMPSON - WASHINGTON, DC: Assuming Jason Garrett is the next head coach, do you think he'll hire an offensive coordinator as well?

Rob: It's a good thought, even if Garrett is basically still in charge of the game plan. Walk-around coaches seem to have more time to be hands-on and place their imprint on the entire team. But remember what happened two years ago: Jerry wanted Wade to have a dual head coach/coordinator role in order to have more authority with the defense. It obviously didn't work out in the long run, but maybe Garrett is more comfortable calling his own plays as well.

Nick: That is a good question. My gut says he won't. But even if he did, it'd probably someone that just has the title. Garrett will call the plays next year but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets someone that could just run the offensive meetings and have some structure to the offense. But when it comes to calling the plays, I don't see anyone but Jason doing that.

Josh: If he does that, I think it's just going to be a promotion for an offensive coach already on the staff. But I think Jason knows that's his area of expertise, and I imagine he'll want to keep control there. In any event, he's going to call the plays. I would just about guarantee that.

CORDELL JAMES - SMYRN, GA: Can you really feel that great about a one-point win against Philadelphia's second unit?

Rob: It all depends on your expectations for this team now. And don't forget the Cowboys were starting a quarterback who'd basically never had a first-team practice rep until a week ago. To me, it was important for this team to continue to compete with their starters and not mail it in. That's a standard Garrett is trying to set. They've been accused of quitting enough this season. As far as the performance, it wasn't pretty. But forget about the preseason expectations; this is a 6-10 team. They weren't as good as everyone thought, period.

Nick: No, you can't. And I'm not sure this team feels good about anything on Monday, other than it's over. They won the game. If you just must go out there and play it, then at least win it. But trust me, no one had any champagne in the locker room Sunday. They all know it's a 6-10 season.

Josh: Probably a little better than you could've felt about losing. They almost did that. I don't think there's any real excuse for playing so poorly on Sunday, except to say these Cowboys aren't really any good, and none of us should be surprised. They have a lot of things to fix.

He'll have a coordinator in title to do the grunt work during the week, but the offense will be run by Garrett and the play calling will definitely be his on gameday.

and I for one don't think that's such a bad thing...

Also we know Garrett was behind bringing Dom Capers here but Wade and his goon axed that. ( Imagine our team if Jerry would have hired Garrett instead of Wade b/c Garrett was bringing Dom Capers..GD!!! ) Hopefully Red will get him or his top assistant or at least someone similar.
