Left guard Nate Livings got chills when he watched the Cowboys run up the tunnel to face the Chargers over the weekend.
Then, he wrestled with the emotions of missing his second consecutive game with his new teammates.
“That’s a feeling I don’t like,’’ Livings said.
The veteran guard was back on the field for Monday’s practice against San Diego. He split time with Derrick Dockery and held up fairly well.
“It’s just getting back, getting my feet back under me, getting to hit different guys,’’ said Livings, who has been out since early in camp with a hamstring injury. “It felt good.
“All good, baby.’’
Livings will practice again Tuesday and intends to make his Cowboys debut Saturday night in the pre-season home opener against St. Louis.
“He’s played in this league,’’ head coach Jason Garrett said. “He needs to play in our offense more, the communication playing next to guys, the different adjustments we need to make. But he’s got a very calm demeanor up there, a quiet intensity about him we like. He’s a professional.
“It’s good to get him back here.’’
