IRVING -- Some good news, Cowboys' fans. Inside linebacker Sean Lee, who led the team in tackles this season and tied for the team lead with four interceptions, said he won't need off-season surgery on his injured left wrist.

There was some question whether Lee would still need surgery after the season, though he had said in late November that his dislocated wrist was healing so well that he thought he would be able to avoid it.

That's indeed the case. Lee doesn't need surgery. His wrist has healed up well despite playing through the injury and protecting it with a cast.

"I'm ready to go," Lee said Monday, one day after the Cowboys lost at the Giants, 31-14, with a chance to win the NFC East and advance to the playoffs. "I'll be fine."

Lee, whom Cr122 liked coming out of the draft, injured his wrist trying to tackle Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick on Oct. 30 and didn't play the next week against Seattle. He returned for the Nov. 13 game against Buffalo and played at first with a fully capped cast but over the last few games used a cast that exposed his fingers and allowed him use of his hand while tackling.

Lee was still hurting emotionally, however, Monday after the loss to the Giants ended the Cowboys' season.

"It's obviously devastating for us," Lee said. "We thought we had a chance to get into the playoffs. We look back at the season and we had a lot of opportunities to win games and we didn't and that's very frustrating for us, but I know the type of team we have and the type of character we have and we're going to move on and be a better team next year."
