We've talked a lot here about what lengths the Cowboys should go to in order to re-sign guys like Gerald Sensabaugh, Marcus Spears, Kyle Kosier, Stephen Bowen and Jason Hatcher, but right now every team in the league has similar concerns.
Whatever the Cowboys lose in free agency, they might benefit just as much by other teams, specifically some within the NFC East, losing talent as well. There's one unrestricted free agent in particular who they should hope to see gone.
Since signing with Washington in 2005, Santana Moss has been an absolute Cowboys killer - it started with his very first game against the team, Week 2 of that season, when he hauled in two late Hail Mary passes from Mark Brunell to shock them.
Moss' success against the Cowboys has only continued since. In 11 games against them as a Redskin, he has caught 68 passes for 990 yards and six touchdowns. In 2010 he had six catches for 77 yards against the Cowboys in the season opener, then eight grabs for 72 yards and two scores in Arlington in Week 15, a narrow Cowboys victory.
Now 32, it's difficult to place Moss' value on the open market. He had 93 catches for 1,115 yards and six touchdowns last year, but the speed and quickness that has made him so good for so long won't be with him forever. The Redskins are fairly thin at receiver anyway, and would be doubly so if they allowed Moss to get away.
But the Cowboys surely have their fingers crossed.
