Strange the hire was announced late on a Friday night, I thought that was a political trick politicians used when they want a story to go unnoticed

does that mean jerruh is ashamed?

Here's what I say about Jerry Jones Kurtz:

There's a conflict in every human heart, between the rational and irrational, between good and evil. And good does not always triumph. Sometimes, the dark side overcomes what Lincoln called the better angels of our nature. Every man has got a breaking point. You and I have. Jerry Jones has reached his. And very obviously, he has gone insane.

He's out there operating without any decent restraint, totally beyond the pale of any acceptable GM conduct. And he is still in the field commanding staff.

The Jerruh had to wait till late Friday to finalize the announcement of his puppet hire so as to minimize the negative media and fan reaction he will receive. If there was any doubt that the Jerruh does not care about winning a championship it should be completely removed. He just figuratively shot the middle finger to his entire fan base. 500 owners could have become billionaires by purchasing the Cowboy. Nothing special about what the Jerruh has done with the Cowboys. Anyone could have done better than the Jerruh just by stepping out of the way and let football people do what football people do. Jerruh is the laughingstock of the entire NFL. I advise every player going into free agency run as fast as you can from this organization. It’s the only chance you stand of ever potentially going to a Super Bowl if that’s important to you. I can tell you the Jerruh doesn’t give a rat’s behind about winning a super Bowl. No…. He is totally content letting everyone know he is in charge while he throws down his cocktails in his owners luxury box. He and his families lack of self awareness is pathetic. The really sad part of all of this is there is no end in sight. Even when the Good Lord takes the Jerruh we have 2.0 Stephen Jones waiting to continue the Jerruhs inept legacy. Wouldn’t it be nice if every season ticket holder and fan picked one game this next season to not attend and not watch on TV. I know it will never happen but it would send a message of utter disdain for the Jerruh. I hope that man is relentlessly booed every time he steps into Tom Landry stadium (Only name worthy ). That thin skinned man will be butt hurt knowing how disliked he is by Cowboys fans. You want credit Jerruh???? Well we all give you credit for destroying the morale of the fans and the legacy you were handed when you bought the team. You should have bought a circus because that’s what you are an expert at creating and building. Deep down inside you are a very insecure old man. I hope the fans shower you with boos every time you appear in Tom Landry stadium or media interviews. It’s going to be fun watching you seethe every time you get booed. As a lifetime fan the hiring of this puppet coach is despicable and insulting! As lifetime loyal fans we deserve so much better than this repackaged pile of crap you keep serving us!

Maybe, although it also means he wasnt quite the attention whore the dumbshit media portrayed either (like comments from Pat Doney)

They say this shit every time when Jones hires or fires people, but I did the research yesterday and not one time was a Cowboy coach hiring ever announced on a NFL playoff game day (contrary to what media fucktards throw out there every time)

Switzer (was in Mrch due to ridiculous timing of Jerry's split with Jimmy) but was on a Wednesday
Gailey- Friday
Campo- Wednesday
Parcells- Wednesday
Wade- Thursday
Garrett (officially hired in 2011, had interim tag removed)- Friday
McCarthy- Tuesday
Schottenheimer- Friday

Typical Jerry hire. Find the one guy who's the most desperate for a HC gig, and won't kick-up a fuss about having to work for the worst owner/GM in the NFL.

Slater now says Witten is NOT going to be part of the Cowboys staff, and apparently it was never considered.

Matt Eberflus was "announced" by several reporters as the new DC, but he has not been hired yet and apparently others are being considered.

Eberflus was brought here by Rob Ryan and stayed on our staff through 2017. Was "passing game coordinator" for defensive side of the ball under Marinelli. He had some solid defenses during his 4 yrs with the Colts. Not a big blitz guy apparently.

Moving it all here. Should be decent amount of stuff to view and discuss about the hire over the next couple weeks.

Like I said in other post before this became official. I don't see this as being any worse than any other dumb decision the Jones-tards could have made. We were 7-10 this year, we'll likely be 6-11 or 7-10 next year. We'd have had that same record had Fat Mike returned. We'd have had that same type of record had they hired Kellen Moore. (And to be clear, these were probably the only REAL candidates there were. McCarthy, Moore and Schottenheimer)

Schottenheimer's Dad was an excellent HC for a long time. He never got the team to the Super Bowl but he had some really good teams that played sound fundamental football. Almost blue-collar like teams. If or Schottenheimer has that characteristic, then that's at least some small positive. We need a no non-sense coach that gets these guys to play somewhat disciplined. He's never been a HC before, so we don't know yet what his philosophy is. Pete Carroll and Mike Lombardi speak highly of him and think he can be a quality coach and those two guys are pretty solid football people.

That said, this is a typical Jerry uninspiring move. We have no idea if players will take this move seriously. They made this move in large part to placae the $60 millio mediocre QB, admitting what we all already know. Dak is incapable of learning anything new and certainly can't be expected to perform in a scheme where has has to make quick decisions and actually read the field. Odds are Schottenheimer will just fall right in line with whatever drunken GM and Spawn want done. Spawn I and Spawn II were apparently the drivers behind this decision (ironically, the same thing happened when they hired McCarthy, they talked Daddy into it) and I'm convinced those two clowns are dumber about football than Jerruh is.

They could have done far better. They probably could have done worse. I think Moore would have been worse because I don't see him inspiring a flea to bite a dogs ass. Schottenheimer at least has some rep as a get in your face kind of guy and we have a roster of players who need that.

Bottom line, hire doesn't move the needle and the end results will probably be no different than any other hire they could have made (save for people like Belichick, Vrabel, Nick Saban Kirby Smart etc etc)
