Free safety Alan Ball whiffed on an attempt to tackle Houston running back Arian Foster, who went on for an 18-yard gain in Saturday's exhibition game. According to Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips, that should not be seen as a sign Ball will have trouble tackling.
The Cowboys are concerned as to how Ball, listed at 195 pounds, will hold up in the physical aspect of the game. Phillips said Ball concentrated on tackling technique throughout training camp and has improved.
``His size is somtimes a problem for him,'' Phillips said of Ball. ``He makes some good tackles. He's really worked at it. He takes good angles and gets there. He can really run. All the other times he did a good job, he did miss that one.''
