Danny McCray's push to make the Dallas Cowboys' opening-day roster as an undrafted rookie free agent raises a question.

Cowboys' Danny McCray in wrong place at wrong time with LSU

How can a player who had only 13 starts in four seasons at LSU make it to the NFL?

McCray admitted he did not have a great career at LSU, where he rotated among free safety, strong safety and nickel back. For starters, the deck was stacked against him in terms of personnel.

In the last three years, three LSU safeties have been selected in the NFL draft. They are: Chad Jones, to the New York Giants in the third round of this year's draft; Curtis Taylor to Washington in the seventh round of the 2009 draft and Craig Steltz to the Chicago Bears in the fourth round of the 2008 draft.

This would make a point if those players were like, studs or something.

The deck was stacked against him. Without scrolling back up to re-read those player names, I honestly can't remember one of those names.

They were decent players. Hardly a murderer's row that should keep a talent down though.

I hope McCray make this team.

He's playing hard right now, he might have something.
