Cowboys, Chargers might practice together
July, 27, 2011
By Todd Archer
SAN ANTONIO -- With the preseason game vs. San Diego pushed back to Aug. 21 and a primetime audience, the Cowboys and Chargers are looking to practice against each other that week although plans have not been finalized, according to a source.
When the Cowboys return from their two-week stay in San Antonio they will practice at Cowboys Stadium, however the workouts could take place in Arlington and the Cowboys’ Valley Ranch facility.
The Cowboys have practiced against Denver in recent years at Valley Ranch and in Colorado. The practices are generally more up-tempo and coaches like the energy of them as long as they are not filled with fights.
The close relationship between Jason Garrett and Chargers head coach Norv Turner, the former Cowboys offensive coordinator, will likely help speed up the process.
