Dallas Cowboys kicker David Buehler missed his second conversion kick of the season during the fourth quarter of Saturday's loss to Arizona. The miss, which owner-general manager Jerry Jones called ``inexcusable,'' enabled Arizona to win on Jay Feely's field goal in the final seconds.
Only one other kicker has missed two conversions this season: New England's Shayne Graham.
The last Cowboys' kicker to miss two conversions in a season was Chris Boniol, in 1995. He currently serves as the Cowboys' kicking consultant, working with Buehler.
``He (Buehler) has made some big kicks and proved that he is a quality kick-off guy,'' interim head coach Jason Garrett said. ``But one of the things you want from a kicker is consistency. He has been a fairly consistent kicker at times, and at other times he has missed some kicks that he is capable of making.''
Garrett said youth is not an excuse for Buehler, in his first season as the place-kicker.
``It certainly doesn't qualify as a pass,'' Garrettt said.
