ARLINGTON - Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked after Thursday's game whether the lingering back injury to backup quarterback Jon Kitna and the mystery illness of fullback Tony Fiammetta could be issues that end both players' seasons.
"We just don't know, Fiammetta especially," Jones said. "Both those guys are not definitive in any way medically. Kitna has some back issues that we're going to be watching. We do have concern and that's one of the reasons we made that claim."
On Wednesday, the Cowboys were one of three teams to put in a waiver claim for Kyle Orton, who was cut Tuesday by the Broncos. Orton was awarded to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Fiammetta and Kitna missed their second consecutive games Thursday. The Cowboys aren't sure what ails Fiammetta, but Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said earlier in the week that the fullback becomes nauseous when he works out.
"I don't know what [Fiammetta has] but that doesn't surprise me," Jones said, "because of the nature of his symptoms."
