The Dallas Cowboys are not expected to re-sign impending free-agent FS Alan Ball this offseason unless he is willing to accept a backup role, reports Adam Caplan, of FOXSports.com.

I know Ball is a POS but at least we didn't sign up A. Rolle......

Texans released FS Eugene Wilson, WR Andre' Davis, LB Isaiah Greenhouse, LB Darnell Bing, and DT DeMario Pressley.

Combined, the five cuts save Houston $9.7 million in projected 2011 salary, with Wilson ($3.56 million) and Davis ($4.7 million) saving the most. Wilson, 30, had 13 starts last season, but didn't contribute to a single turnover. In terms of coverage, Pro Football Focus graded him as the third worst safety in the NFL among 85 playing-time qualifiers. Only Cowboys FS Alan Ball and perennially overrated Antrel Rolle of the Giants graded out worse.

No surprise here.

Ball may just accept an offer from the Cowboys to be a backup... At corner.

This is almost as great as the Rob Ryan signing. I am so happy to see "Always Out of Position" Ball getting his just desserts.

If the Cowboys don't resign Ball in any capacity it wouldn't surprise me to see him not make an NFL roster this coming year.

As cmd34 says...can we do a 2 for 1 and stick Sensabaugh in Ball's backpack on the way out the door?
