The Dallas Cowboys have introduced Chris Greenwood to their 53-man roster.

The Cowboys took Greenwood from the lions, and he is likely to take Anthony Spencer’s spot. Spencer ha a knee injury that may require micro-fracture surgery that would put him on the sidelines for the rest of the season.

Greenwood was a fifth-round pick by the Lions in 2012. He was released by the Lions the week prior to regular season, then he was signed back to their practice quad.

Greenwood was also one of the Cowboys’ 30 pre-draft visits last season.

The Cowboys signed defensive tackle Drake Nevis on Tuesday after releasing Jerome Long.

Who was the player from the Colts we acquired for a 2015 7th round pick, and Colts fans were up in arms over?

CB Chris Greenwood

6' 1" 193 pounds 4.42 nfl combine 40-time

Overview
It's a tough road to go from Division III to the NFL, but Greenwood got noticed enough to be invited to the East-West Shrine Game, and scouts from the Dolphins and Cowboys spent time with him after Greenwood had a strong showing at Michigan's March 15 pro day. Local prospects were invited to work out alongside Wolverines, and the Detroit native said he was living a dream. "It's exciting," Greenwood told the Detroit News after his pro day workout. "I'm living a dream. It's fun. It's football. I know I have what it takes to play in the NFL. I can make plays. I'm just looking for an opportunity to show everyone." The 6-1, 193-pound cornerback leaves Albion with great respect from the coaching staff. "Chris has great individual talent but what makes him special is he blended with the team and did not seek the spotlight," Albion coach Craig Rundle said after Greenwood was selected to participate in the Shrine Game in January. "He is one of the most humble kids we have on the team."
Analysis
Strengths: Smooth and explosive athlete with very good acceleration to get to top speed in a hurry. Good height and length for the position with excellent leaping ability to highpoint the ball and knock down passes. Good ballskills and reliable hands. Trusts his eyes and has good reaction quickness. Plays fearless and confident, staying decisive in his movements. Productive over his career with 13 interceptions. Weaknesses: Lanky frame and needs to bulk up for the next level. Played at Division-III level so is in for a big jump in competition. Appears a bit tight hipped and isn't the most fluid in his backpedal, more of a straight-line athlete. Played at three different colleges (Northwood, Eastern Michigan, Albion). Raw cover technique. Gets too high and needs to show better bend and not opening his hips so early. Limited experience as return man on special teams. --Dane Brugler
