Don't watch/listen to ESPN or NFL Network Access this week.

Catch up on your DVR and watch some Discovery or something.

I'm pissed enough as it is I don't need blood pressure problems too.

You know . . . it's funny . . . there was a time where I couldn't get ENOUGH of all the pre-game and post game shows. I'd watch the same episode of SportsCenter over and over again. I'd tune into NFL Live and be captivated, even if they were breaking down some horrible game like the Browns vs the Jets.

Now . . . I don't even bother with them. On game days, I don't even turn the television on until kick off. I change the channel at half time. And if there is something I'm really interested in, I might tune into ESPN News for the live post game PC's.

Even NFL Total Access . . . which I loved up until a year or so ago, I rarely watch.

So yeah . . . I'll have no problem avoiding these programs this week. I got plenty of the Twilight Zone, Tosh.O, American Justice, First 48, and High Stakes Poker on the Tivo.

You know it's like I could have posted that.

When I was younger, I'd watch every show on TV that was devoted to the NFL... I guess it's good that there wasn't as much coverage then than there is now.

And then I would listen to ESPN on the radio with Tony Bruno & company.

Plus there was all the newspapers and magazines.

I don't do any of that any more.

I don't carry victories on my chest like I've accomplished something.

Likewise, I don't let crushing loses ruin my Monday either.

Life is just too short to have that much invested in what's basically entertainment.

Man,I remember hardly being able to stand the wait before first Tom Landry's show, then the NFL today would come on before the early Sunday games. An hour before, for both shows.

Then came ESPN & HBO,and it seemed like an NFL fan's dream.

Now it's major suckage.

ESPN is in full Hoover mode and has been for some time. When I realized I wanted to kick Trey Wingo's ass so hard he'd have to clear his throat to shit,I knew it was time to stop watching.

NLFN started out well,I thought, but has faded to become a 2nd rate ESPN.

The networks aren't that good.

I can avoid those jackasses easily,I've been doing it awhile.

Why would I avoid the media this week?

I can handle whatever's said. Most of it will probably be right.

This is why I am so grateful for a site like this, aside from the resident asshole, the (s)our (b)itch (k)unt.
