I just started getting into cooking in the last year or so. I can't cook a lot of things, but I'm getting better. I've got some turkey bratwursts in a pot with chopped onion cooking on the stove now. My girlfriend and I can cook some really good chicken quesadillas with chopped onion, bell pepper, and jalapenos. I made some Mexican cornbread the other night with jalapenos and onions. It was really good.

It used to seem foreign to me, but it's just reading directions and making sure you cook everything through. It's a great way to save money and avoid eating a lot of junk you don't need.

If I apply myself, I can cook a mean chicken patty, instant mashed potatoes, and creamed corn from a can dinner.

Man you guys are assholes! I'm just trying to start a new topic. We've covered every aspect of this shitty team. It makes me sick talking about them.

My next thread will be about gardening.

board needs grocery shopping thread.

I use the self-checkout machines. I sometimes slip some more expensive fruits in with my cheaper bananas, and weigh them all as bananas. Needless to say I'm going to prison or hell.

That's pretty smart. We've got those at Kroger and Home Depot. The people who shop at Wal Mart here are too stupid to use self checkout machines.

Don't worry Jon. Nothing wrong with cooking. When you get where you can cook some turnip greens, fried pork chops and cornbread with a little fried squash, let me know. I like to cook because I can cook what I want instead of that crap my wife likes. I cook strictly southern style food. You can feel your arteries clogging up while your still eating. Lots of grease, salt and sugar.

I grew up eating that at my grandparents houses. I can cook cornbread and pork chops, but I'm not good at greens or squash. There's a local place thats entire menu is food like that. I'd love to work there for a day to see how they do it.

Love it so much, I decide to go to culinary school for shits and grins. Got a job at a great restaurant for a class requirement and learned so much there I quit school and have been working at the restaurant for the last year and a half. I thought I could cook before I started working there, now I realize I don't know squat but I'm enjoying learning.

I'm in charge of the charcuterie (Bresaola, pepperoni, Coppa, etc) and make in house sausage as well as special projects) and house cured bacon and pancetta.

I'm a few weeks away from the pancetta being ready, its a pretty cool process where you take $3/lb pork belly, cure it, age it and it'll sell for $20/lb, here's some photos:

The key to greens is the sugar and squash needs nothing but some corn meal. It is not hard.

yimyammer's stock, already high, moves even higher.

Jon, don't add any extra sugar to anything you do.
