IRVING -- One of the Cowboys' biggest issues that has to be addressed in the off-season is how to make the interior of their offensive line better. New offensive line coach Bill Callahan was asked about that Thursday, the first day he addressed the local media, and specifically about his thoughts on New Orleans Pro Bowl guard Carl Nicks.
Nicks will be the top free agent offensive guard on the market this off-season,, and Callahan just happened to coach Nicks when he was Nebraska's head coach. Adding Nicks via free agency could be an option for the Cowboys this off-season.
"At Nebraska, he was awfully talented," Callahan said. "He's really matured into the fine player he is today. He's dominant in every respect. I think that provides a lot of firmness in the pocket for Drew [Brees] to step up into. I got a lot of respect for Carl and how he's developed himself into a pro down in New Orleans. I have a friend who speaks very highly of him down there."
