Particularly for the crowd that is already taking a decidely negative stance on what we may or may not do.

What makes this draft a success? What players do YOU like and like for us.

Will post mine as well.

Tyron Smith at 9. Unless Nick Fairley falls.

If not that, trade down. Maybe twice. And land Gabe Carimi. I already posted my dream scenario that led off with two trade downs and Carimi in the first round. I also posted my pet cats through the whole draft and players I don't like in the predictions thread in the draft forum.

Peterson, Amukamara, Watt, Solder. All fail. I can deal with Castonzo. I won't rip nor praise the pick.

Cameron Jordan at 9. No. Aldon Smith at any point. No. Mike Pouncey or Derek Sherrod in a trade down. Yes. I wouldn't be against Corey Liuget with the first pick, though I think he fits Wade's 3-4 more than Rob's.

Basically, if we can't land Fairley or Smith at 9, get the hell out of there and stockpile picks. More at bats and we swing like a pitcher.

I'm torn on Fairley. He took over games for Auburn and was at times a one man wrecking crew. I think he has that nasty kind of attitude we need more of on defense. I just dont know if he can maximize his talent playing in a 3-4 scheme, and then there's the other stuff that comes up with him. Although if coached properly that could probably be overcome.

Still dont see the hatred for Watt, but would agree that I dont want him at 9. The difference between our opinions there seems to be you dont want the guy in any slot however, while I see him as a nice fit in our scheme and think he'd help upgrade the front.

I really want JJ Watt, Anthony Costanzo, or Tyron Smith at #9. Though not in that order. Costanzo is my dude.

I wouldn't say I don't want Watt at any point. If we were picking like 25th or something, his leadership would be enticing for our defense.

That's the one thing I like about Watt. He's a leader.

Teams will pass on Patrick P. b/c they think he's too big to play CB and the tape shows him getting worked more than is talked about...

We get him at #9 lol

He's overrated. Russ Lande has been right all along. He's a safety in the NFL.

Mark Ingram just seems like a real good fit in New England.

That would be an outstanding pick for them.

I think he'd be an outstanding pick for alot of teams, but with them having 17, 28 and 33, he sure seems to make alot of sense for them.

I kinda keep having this psuedo dream scenario of NE giving us 17 and 33 for 9. We take somebody like Costanzo, Watt or Jordan at 17 then watch Ingram fall in our laps Friday night with the 33rd pick.

I like the 1-2 combo of Ingram and Jones alot. Especially if we upgrade the OL through draft and/or free agency.

Here's mine:

1) Trading up from 9, not a fan of. Especially if it costs picks in this draft, unless they are late picks.

2) If they stay at 9, Tyron Smith would be my pick. If either Dareus or Peterson were there and we picked one of them, would be good with that, especially Dareus. Still dont believe picking a CB in round 1 is a smart move but at 9 if they got Peterson and he's their #1 guy, wont complain.

3) Via small trade downs would be happy with Costanzo, Watt, Jordan

4) Mixed opinions on players like Fairley & Quinn. Both have a ton of talent but both have some major risk.

5) Disappointed if we take a player like Amukamara, Solder or Aldon Smith at 9. And really dont want any of the 3 at any point in the first 20 picks.

6) Would be pleased with a scenario where we move down some for a player like a Watt, Jordan or Costanzo, then maybe move up from 40 to get a guy like Carimi or Hayward

7) Wont be happy with spending an early pick on a QB

8) Would love ending up with Mark Ingram if we could somehow get him at 40 (highly unlikely) or perhaps at 33 if we traded 9 to NE for 17 and 33.

Draft one positon after the trade down, move up for the position we didnt take from 40..ie Watt at 17, move up for Carimi after

Ah, makes sense, although I puke at the thought of drafting Heyward in the 2nd. Especially moving up for him. JAG.
