For Dez Bryant, the disappointment that lingered after former Cowboys receivers coach Ray Sherman's contract was not renewed has been tempered by the hiring of the man who will replace him. On Friday, Bryant said he is excited to work with Sherman's successor, Jimmy Robinson.

"I am fortunate to have him with the Dallas Cowboys," Bryant said. "He's a nice, genuine guy. I know all the guys are looking forward to working with him."

A month before Robinson was added to the staff, Bryant said he was crestfallen when he was informed about Sherman's departure.

"I was very down when it happened," he said. "But it's a business. He went his way. Now it's time for us to go our way and we wish the best for each other."

Bryant said he hopes to develop a strong working relationship with Robinson, who oversaw the wideouts that contributed to the championship season Green Bay forged in 2010.

"I know he is a great coach," Bryant said. "He came from coaching a great group of receivers that I look at a lot. I am very excited."

I don't think Robinson is going to coddle Bryant like Sherman did, so we shall see. Bryant is a very emotional player, so how Robinson responds to that shall be interesting. I don't think he's going to get in players' faces like Todd Haley did, but I hope he's not standoffish about it. That seems to put players out.

I would like to see where this "coddling" was. lol. These are grown ****ing men for piss sakes. I am sure Sherman got his point across and wasn't soft on the wR's. Haley was just a joke. I would laugh my ass off if I were a player he was in my face.lol

Bryant said that whenever he got upset, he ran to Sherman or Choice.

I'd say being able to skip position meetings when you're out for the year with the broken ankle is a pretty clear case of coddling.

There have been reports he's been late. Was he punished for it? No? That's coddling.

I think Dez has no choice in the matter to attend these meetings, if he gets hurt again believe me he'll attend.

Lets not forget who the head coach was.

Jimmy Robinson and Dez Bryant have to be separated on the sidelines before Bryant kills him during a game next year . . .

I set the over under at 2.

I set the over under at 2.

I think they'll do fine together.
