Bryant off crutches; Romo on schedule

MOBILE, Ala. -- Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is off crutches but isn't ready to start running on his surgically repaired right ankle.
Bryant suffered the season-ending injury in a victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Dec. 5.
"He is on target," Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said regarding Bryant's time frame to return. Bryant finished his season with 45 catches for 561 yards with six touchdowns. He also returned two punts for touchdowns and averaged 24.4 yards on kick returns.
Also, Jones said the team was confident Tony Romo could have played at the end of the 2010 season when his left collarbone was healed. Jones was happy the team choose to put the starting quarterback on injured reserve with two games remaining in the regular season.
The Cowboys split the final two games but went 5-5 overall without him.
As far as Romo's recovery time, Jones said the quarterback is on schedule when it comes to rehab.
"Certainly we didn't have any negative impact at the end of the year, one way or the other because he can play," Jones said of Romo. "He's certainly going to be capable to do anything and everything he can this offsesaon [in terms of rehab]."
