Jason Hatcher to visit the Broncos
July, 28, 2011

By Calvin Watkins

SAN ANTONIO -- While the Cowboys might have lost one of their free agent defensive ends in Stephen Bowen on Thursday, it appears Jason Hatcher is slipping away.

Hatcher, who played in 13 games last season, will visit the Denver Broncoson Friday. Hatcher turned down a contract offer from the Cowboys recently in the hopes of getting a bigger deal elsewhere.

Last season, Hatcher finished with just one sack, two quarterback pressures and was credited with 17 total tackles.

The other defensive end who is a free agent is Marcus Spears and he's yet to sign with a team. But he's also spoken with team officials about a new deal.

When asked would the Cowboys fill some of their holes like safety and defensive end, team vice president Stephen Jones said, "yeah, not in the next day, but this is a process."

Or sign Spears and Coleman.

Who knows what's going on with Cullen Jenkins.

From what I've read I don't want Jenkins. He had a career year during the final year of his contract and has won a Superbowl. As Lazarus or someone else said, he's just looking to get paid. We've had too many of those players over the years.

if we have already made offers to spears and hatcher....how low must they have been.

Sounded like spears was set on going to houston or washington when he was on with norm last week. Mosely just tweeted that the skins are prepared to break the bank for spears too.

if that happens and they take two of our players I will have even less respect for shanahan.

They laid out pretty big pay days for Cofield and Bowen, I cant see why they'd put out another significant payday for another DE...they cant start all 3...unless maybe they are thinking about playing Spears or Cofield at NT some

Bye.

The only thing better than this thread would be a thread Sensabaugh in talks with....(insert any team other than the Cowboys here)....

I am never suprised with that team. THe whole thing is going to be free agents this year. If they want him they will make it happen.

Mebane and Coleman would pair nicely with Ratliff.

What about maybe Ray Edwards ? I know he's more of a 4-3 DE but we are going to be so hybrid this year he might fit.

Since we drafted him, I can only think of ONE play Hatcher made, returning the fumble for a TD against The Pats a few years ago.
