Wade Phillips runs the offense, Jason Garrett runs the offense, but it's not like never the two shall meet.
Garrett has the autonomy to call what he wants, but Phillips said he will interject on strategic situations, like when to go for it on fourth down, speeding up the offense, slowing it down.
Like he did after the game, Phillips took the blame for Tashard Choice's end of half fumble, saying a play never should have been called and they should have gone to the locker room trailing, 3-0. Instead DeAngelo Hall picked up Choice's fumble and went in for the Redskins only touchdown of the game.
"I have the right to do anything I want to do. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't," Phillips said. "The situation before the half, I should have. That's what happened ... I think the head coach is in charge. That's the situation. That's the way it is, that's the way it should be."
Phillips said he has the same relationship as he had with other offensive coordinators, like Jim Fassel.
"They're studying it all the time," Phillips said. "They're working on it all the time. That's what they work on all the time, the plays, the players. I suggest things. I talk to them during the week and decide what we're going to do overall. And as a staff we look at it. The offense looks at the defense, the defense looks at the offense and we have suggestions for them and they have suggestions for us."
