Lineback Bobby Carpenter , the Dallas Cowboys' first-round pick in the 2006 draft, has another life in the NFL.
Carpenter joined his fourth team in less than a year, signing with Detroit. In the last eight months, Carpenter has been traded by the Cowboys to St. Louis, released by the Rams and signed and released by Miami. The Dolphins dumped Carpenter this week because of his mistakes on special teams.
If Carpenter sticks with Detroit, he will return to Cowboys Stadium with the Lions on Nov. 21.
