Bob Sturm of Sportsradio 1310 The Ticket chatted with SportsDayDFW readers on Friday. While discussing the Cowboys, Sturm gave his thoughts on the team's first round pick and who is left for the Cowboys to add at safety.

Here are the highlights.

On who the Cowboys should target with their first round draft pick (No. 9 overall):

"I like [Cameron] Jordan more than [Marcell] Dareus at DE. I don't think I would touch [Robert] Quinn. And I don't believe the Cowboys are going to touch Prince [Amukamara]. People are really falling in love with his measurables. I have watched half of his 2010 season recently, and I think he is good, but nowhere near Top 10 good."

On agreeing with the theory of drafting the best player in the first round of the draft regardless of needs:

"I do not agree with [that] theory in the 1st Round. Too expensive to disregard your team's personal situation. ... No way in Top 10 with those paychecks. ... I think I need to get better on both lines. I need a stud in the 1st. I don't see a safety worth it, but I see good OL and DL in the 1st. I might need to trade back on OL, but DE at #9 would be outstanding."

On who is left for the Cowboys to upgrade with at safety:

"I think we are likely down to the scrap heap. Unless they like the safeties in the draft. I am so/so on Quinton Carter. I need to watch more Rahim Moore. I like [DeAndre] McDaniel from Clemson, too."

I've been on the Cameron Jordan bandwagon for over a month now, but if it comes down between Dareus and Jordan and both are at #9, you better and got to take Dareus. I deally, I'd rather trade down and then pick up Jordan. I agree with his stance on Amukamara and Quinn, but if Peterson by luck happens to be there at #9, I don't think you can pass him up, nor should you.
