Bennett left the Alamodome practice field early on Tuesday but later returned. He has been off to a solid start to training camp and the coaches have lauded his focus and attitude. It is not clear how long Bennett will be out or if he will be able to practice on Saturday.
With Bennett watching John Phillips will backup Jason Witten. Phillips suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the Hall of Fame Game last year and missed the season. He has not missed a practice in camp. Martin Rucker is the only other tight end on the depth chart although Jason Pociask, who moved to fullback in camp, can fill in.
