Gerry Fraley / Reporter
Arizona's John Skelton, who will make his third consecutive start at quarterback in the Christmas-night game against the Dallas Cowboys, grew up in El Paso, Texas. He was in the minority when it came to favorite NFL team in that town.
Skelton told reporters that his friends and mother were fans of the Cowboys, but he and his father were on the opposite side of the fence. They disliked the Cowboys.
"He instilled that in me," Skelton said. "Growing up, I really didn't have a (favorite) team. I just watched Steve Young play, Brett Favre in Green Bay, kind of just followed players more."
Did Skelton have a favorite team?
``Whoever was against the Cowboys,'' he said, in good humor.
One of Skelton's uncles, Javier Loya, is a minority owner of the Houston Texans.
