IRVING, Texas -- Not only will the Cowboys look at a familiar face in Montrae Holland for a workout today at Valley Ranch, but they will evaluate Daniel Loper and Mansfield Wrotto as well.

Loper, a Texas Tech-ex, has started nine of 58 games over six seasons with Tennessee, Detroit and Oakland. He was a fifth-round pick of the Titans in 2005. Wrotto, who was a fourth-rounder by Seattle in 2007, has played in 27 games with 12 starts. He started seven games for Buffalo last year.

Given Holland’s experience in this offense he would have the advantage provided he is in good shape. He worked out for Detroit earlier this year. Holland, who received a $500,000 roster bonus after the lockout ended, was penciled in to be the starter after Leonard Davis was cut. He suffered a back injury early in training camp and worked on his conditioning while playing in only one preseason game before he was released

watch he will look like an all pro in the first half and get hurt in the second half.

we will then have to sign someone else. Either way somehow this guy will end up getting paid for the season while sitting on our IR.

we already have the usual crew hurt this year, newman, kosier, felix, hatcher and miles. its just a matter of time for holland.

Anyone know what Brian Waters agreed to in his NE contract? If it wasn't something completely unreasonable, why the hell would you not go after him?

My guess is, because you can't build an O line from picking rejects off other teams as we've finally found out. But that's just my opinion on what it looks like. The FA pull and play cause we are one player away days aren't here yet.

Everyone knew this year was gonna be ugly. They just seemed to have forgotten that. heh

Can't you? Because the Pats did.. and he looks like he's working out pretty well for them.
