Jason Garrett's Combine role has expanded

INDIANAPOLIS -- In his role as assistant head coach and offensive coordinator Jason Garrett’s role at the NFL Scouting Combine focused solely on the offensive side of the ball.

He would take part in the 30 offensive interviews during his time at the Combine and he would return to Dallas from Valley Ranch before the defensive players would work out.

Now that he’s the head coach that has changed. Garrett is sitting in on all of the formal interviews, talking to players on both sides of the ball.

“It’s a very important process, spending time at the Senior Bowl, coming up here to Indianapolis,” Garrett said. “We talked earlier about picking people as coaches, picking people as players is really important. So we try to embrace this process. My scope will be a little wider as the head coach.”
