Texas -- Jason Garrett might not have all of the options at defensive coordinator much longer.

Greg Manusky interviewed with the Cowboys on Wednesday and is talking with Norv Turner today in San Diego. Manusky coached in San Diego and some predict the Chargers have the lead for his services. I wrote the other day why the Cowboys would be a better fit just because of Garrett’s job security.

Vic Fangio interviewed on Monday with the Cowboys but some believe he will follow Jim Harbaugh from Stanford to San Francisco. Makes sense in a lot of ways and maybe Fangio gets more money out of the Niners because of the Cowboys’ interest.

Paul Pasqualoni is the in-house candidate, but according to The Boston Globe Pasqualoni is one of the finalists for the University of Connecticut job. Pasqualoni’s roots are in college football and he was the head coach at Syracuse from 1991-2004.

They are the three known candidates for the coordinator gig.

To those wondering about Dave Wannstedt’s availability: I don’t see it. He has not been a coordinator since 1992 with the Cowboys and he does not have 3-4 experience. Plus, Carolina and San Diego could offer him assistant head coach duties.

To those wondering about Rob Ryan’s availability: I don’t see that either even if Ryan appears to be out in Cleveland. While he is a tremendous coach, I don’t see Ryan as a Garrett kind of guy. Maybe that’s the wrong way to look at it because his schemes are tested and true. Would Ryan’s energy re-energize a defense that fell off the map in 2010?

Now would Ryan’s boss in Cleveland, Eric Mangini, be a possible candidate? I could see that one happening. Mangini was a coordinator for only one year in New England (2005) but he was around Bill Belichick and Romeo Crennel for a lot of years.

To those wondering about Dom Capers’ availability: He’s under contract for 2011 in Green Bay.

I knew this would happen eventually.

Some of these guys aren't going to wait for us to make our decision.

There are people wondering about Dave Wannstedt?

Yeah, I posted an article yesterday about it, Mort reported something about we might want to talk to Wannstedt.

But I found out the article was bullshit and deleted it.

If they are all looking for the best situation for themselves, they absolutely will.

That would make no sense unless we were planning on going back to a 4-3.

If we're waiting on Moss and Horton, then expect a Green Bay/Pittsburgh Super Bowl.

Are you fucking serious, CR122?

It was pointed out to you by several people that Mort never made any mention of Dallas wanting to talk to DW.

You blow my mind sometimes.

Exactly. That's why I posted it, but I guess Mort screwed up because I heard him say on ESPN news that Wannstedt could be considered.

It was all bullshit, as always from him.
