Another report of Michael Vick skipping an event

Posted by Michael David Smith on March 27, 2011, 8:26 AM EDT

There’s been a string of stories this offseason of Michael Vick failing to honor commitments. Now there’s one more.

WAVY-TV in Virginia reports that Vick did not show up to the Southeastern Virginia Arts Association Gala on Saturday night. The organization had chosen Vick for an award, calling him a “hero” and a “true example of life success.”

The organization’s web site features an invitation to the event that suggests Vick would be there. And the report from WAVY says the station was told Vick had confirmed he was going to be at the event, and that several people who paid $100 for tickets were upset he didn’t show up.

However, it’s not clear from either the WAVY report or the invitation that Vick ever did say he was going to attend this event. On this one, I’m inclined to give Vick the benefit of the doubt.

A hero..............seriously?

Can think of a lot of things to say about him but that word is not close to making the list.

Al Capone was a hero too.

This is what you get when PC folks are involved. "Oh, poor, black man, had to work his way from out of prison!". Seemingly forgetting that his own criminal actions put him there in the 1st place.

Vick had a good year last season. That cures all in some folk's small minds.
