Per DMN, Loper added too, in addition to Holland.

A Cowboys team that was desparately thin in the offensive line have added two guards to the roster.

The club added Daniel Loper to the active roster this afternoon. Loper, who played his college ball at Texas Tech, has started nine games in his six seasons in the NFL. He was signed shortly after the Cowboys re-signed Montrae Holland.

Bill Nagy's season-ending injury and Derrick Dockery's rehab from an injury have sparked these moves. The club cut sixth round pick Dwayne Harris to make room for Loper on the roster.

Oh boy. We really have one of the bottom Personnel Departments in all of sports. We just sign random scrub after random scrub.

I get the desperation but to risk losing a (potentially) talented young WR for Daniel Loper? It's okay we still have David Buehler, an inactive kickoff specialist. This roster, and more importantly, the person responsible for putting it together, has some serious issues.

I think Buehler might get released, but as I mentioned in another thread they couldnt technically release him until he is deemed 100% healthy (unless he agrees to an injury settlement). And they cant simply stash him on IR because the league has cracked down on placing players on IR who might be less than really injured long term.

I still dont know that I'd qualify Harris as "talented". He opened some eyes in one preseason game (the first one) and since then has done nothing. he also didnt show much ability as a returner. I think if he had made some plays there, they'd have found a way to keep him.

So now the Punt Returner will be a guy the staff felt wasn't better than Harris. Unless we go Dez fulltime and hope like hell he stays healthy.

I know no one does... but does anyone know anything about Loper?

Yes. He's a ginger.

Cowboys add Daniel Loper
October, 18, 2011

By Todd Archer

IRVING, Texas -- The Cowboys have added guard Daniel Loper to the 53-man roster to replace rookie wide receiver Dwayne Harris.

Loper, a Texas Tech-ex, was the second player the Cowboys signed after a Tuesday workout at Valley Ranch, joining Montrae Holland. The Cowboys have 10 offensive linemen on the 53-man roster and five wide receivers.

Loper, 6-6, 320 pounds, has started nine of 58 games over six seasons with Tennessee, Detroit and Oakland. He was a fifth-round pick of the Titans in 2005.

Harris is eligible to return to the practice squad if he clears waivers but the team already has two wide receivers on the taxi squad – Teddy Williams, Andre Holmes.
