Yakking this afternoon on 105.3 The Fan, Cowboys radio analyst Babe Laufenberg mentioned against the Patriots yesterday "the offensive line was awful to a man."

He mentioned Kyle Kosier's painful Plantar Fasciitis and the overwhelming inexperience of rookies Tyron Smith, Bill Nagy and Kevin Kowalski as well as novice second-year pro Phil Costa.

I think Jerry is the only one in the civilized world who didn't see this coming.

And if you listen to some people, it's not that the interior sucks or the tackles need to be flipped, it's the inexperience.

Yeah.

I'm not calling for the tackles to flip this year, but it needs to happen as soon as possible.

Gee Babe,,are they suddenly inexperienced or might a qualified GM saw this coming?

At the beginning of the season when the OL was mentioned being a liability, the sheeple started naming how we just drafted Tyron, Arkin, Nagy and re-signed Free and acted like 'what more do you want?". That's all well and good, but having neglected the position for half a decade or longer makes it tough to have a good line by addressing it all in one season.

Going forward if we can add another piece or two and then have these guys gain experience it may turn into a solid unit. But this year it's going to be our weak link due to all the years of ignoring it.

I dont think there's much doubt Smith will go to LT in the offseason, and Free will go back to RT

Might have happened this year had they had a real offseason where they could have spent some time working with Smith there.

Yeah.

It might just be that. Sometimes there are growing pains. The run blocking stinks, no doubt about it. Most of these young guys just arnt strong enough yet. They need a full offseason or two in the weight lifting/training program, in addition to experience. But for alot of most of the games, the pass protection has been improved over last yr and the end of 2009.

Koiser was making Smith look a lot better than he was. Koiser is hurting and Smith falls off. Free has looked sub par due to playing next to a laundry list of guards this year. It's not that Smith is a LT and not a RT and Free isnt a LT but is a RT it is more like, we got our anchors, but didn't have the draft picks to get the Guards to go with them.

I highly doubt that GM Jerry really wanted to pull the trigger on letting go of Gurode, but either he was back against the wall with the cap or Garrett / Stephen wanted it this way.

This wasn't a 1 year project guys...

Most folks had us at under 8 wins this year due to the rebuilding process alone.
