Agent: Brandon Carr will not take a pay cut with Dallas
Posted by Curtis Crabtree on March 23, 2015, 6:17 PM EDT

The Dallas Cowboys have hoped they could convince cornerback Brandon Carr to take a pay cut this offseason.

Carr doesn’t appear to be open to that idea.

According to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Carr’s agent, Ben Dogra, said that Carr will not be taking a pay cut with the Cowboys.

With Morris Claiborne sidelined for the offseason and a possible candidate to land on the physically unable to perform list to start the year, the Cowboys could certainly use Carr’s depth and experience on the roster. However, it also makes the argument for Carr to accept a pay cut a bit hollow as well.

Carr is scheduled to make $8 million this season from Dallas. With his refusal to accept a pay cut, it may lead to the Cowboys having to release Carr. The team has less than $5 million in salary cap space currently, per NFLPA records.

Please cut him.

I'd literally rather start an UDFA corner out there. The production wouldn't be worse.

Eff off Carr. You piece of shit.

Good thing that mfer doesn't get paid per interception. Piece of shit would have starved to death last year.

I hate Morris Claiborne more than Carr, whom I loathe. At least Carr has actually played.

I'd wait as long as possible to cut his ass. Let the market dry way up before you cut him. Let him play elsewhere for scraps.

Anyone have any idea how much money we have left? I'd love to see us cut both Carr and Claiborne then turn around and sign Charles Tillman on a one year deal, then draft a young guy in the draft at some point.

Way too much admitting we were wrong, for Jerruh in that scenario.

I read somewhere earlier that currently we have just under 2mils on the cap.
