Here's a few things that are going through my mind right now...

  • I grossly overrated this team, as I have every off season for the past (countless) off seasons. I need to reign in my homerism. While most were penciling us as 8-8, 9-7, I was full bore 12-4, 13-3. Shoot me in the face.
  • Jason Garrett might be the man for the job, and I think/hope he is, but he's got a lot to learn. I wasn't only riding his train, I was the motherfucking conductor. You know how Cr122 likes to mention he liked Sean Lee coming out of the draft? Yeah, well, I was the guy saying I heart Garrett any chance I could.

But his offense is screwing this team. I literally feel bad for Rob Ryan. The guy and his defense is turning in heroic performances, and the offense is letting him down time and time again.

Garrett needs to drastically improve in playcalling, clock management, and roster management.
  • Our offensive line is putrid. To suggest otherwise is ridiculous. Because of our lack of an offensive line capable of creating a push or reliable running lanes, our red zone playcalling, specifically inside the 5, is terrible.

You ask why Garrett calls the plays he does? It's because our line is seriously limited. An overhaul is needed, and I'd start by moving Tyron to LT and Free to RT. This week.
  • Some people were railing on Garrett for his playcalling when we got the ball with 3+ minutes left. Three sorry run attempts came. Reality is, Garrett was in a lose-lose situation there. Run, which we did, and we see what happens. But Romo isn't someone you can rely on to reign it in and make smart throws in that situation. On top of that, if the ball is incomplete, the Patriots don't have to burn a time out. There really wasn't aynthing that Garrett could do there, correctly. He was just handicapped by a shit team.
  • I don't understand how Dez is regularly taken out of games. Not literally out of the lineup, rather, he becomes invisible. I read where a few of you speculated the reason why in the gameday thread, but lets be honest, most of you are retarded. So I don't give a shit what you have to say. Instead, I'd like to see what Broaddus or a few other learned football people have to say.
  • I want Choice gone from the team. I don't even want compensation at this point. Screw a trade. Just get rid of the player. He's useless. In fact, he's worse than useless because he makes so many ridiculously bad plays. He has no situational awareness. He'll spend all week tweeting about how he's overcoming adversity and learning, then he'll get a few carries and dick shit up. I hate him more than I hate Marion Barber last year.

Which brings me back to my roster management concern from earlier. Why was TC getting carries late in the game? I'm sure it had to do with FJ being injured, and DM and TC being the only active backs. Was TC just going in to spell DM? I hope so. Nevertheless, I would've preferred that a message be sent to the team, TC not get any carries or snaps after that fumble, and be released from the team.
  • You look at our schedule, and we've played some tough games. We've also got a losing record as a result. You know what that means? We're not a good team. Sure, we can compete with the good teams, but we can't win against them. In fact, we'll find a way to lose more times than not. Watch us destroy St Louis next week, and then flop against Philly two weeks from now.
  • This is such a disappointing loss, because, quite frankly, we had two weeks to prepare, the Patriots were coming off a tough divisional game against the Jets, Tom Brady had about as bad a game as Tom Brady will ever have, we held them to 20 points total..... and our offense with Witten, Dez, Austin, FJ, etc... couldn't win the game.
  • Can we stop with the Felix Jones is sooooo talented stuff? The guy does have some talent, but his lack of any semblence of durability undermines his talent. He can't be relied on because he can't stay on the field. Outside of that incredible game against the Eagles his rookie year, have you ever ended a Cowboys game thinking to yourself "Wow, that guy can play!" I'm not going to say he's a bust, but... well.... he kinda is.
  • I hate all of you. And I hate this team.

I know I have no say but here's what I'd do:

*Hire an Offensive Coordinator. I don't care if Jason doesn't want to give up play calling, I would insist on it. He can hire him but it has to be someone who has shown he can manage a game I.E. run the ball, protect leads, take advantage of mismatches like Dez Bryant near the goal line. I need a no-nonsense guy who isn't Romo's pal.
*Sign or draft a Guard and a Center. Both need to be strong run-blockers.
*Sign a NT. Ratliff can play NT on passing downs, but I am sick of teams getting short, up the middle running plays (now QB sneaks?) whenever they need them.

I am as big a pessimist as there is but IMO we are only 4 or 5 moves away. A 3rd WR, a coverage Safety, and a power RB would be nice but if we can just make the 4 moves I mentioned, I'd like our chances against anyone.

Dallas has been in 11 straight games decided by 4 points or less.....or some shit like that.

Just good enough to barely lose to good teams but just bad enough to barely win against bad teams.

I fully expect a close, frustrating and fucking idiotic game against the Rams. I don't care what their record is, this team is trending in it's ability to make every contest, no matter how outmatched they or the opponent may be a fucking heart attack waiting to happen.

I have never been a FeliX Jones fan. I wanted Chris Johnson , Mendenhall, or Ray Rice. But he and Murray are so much better then the line will let them show

Garrett is a young inexperienced head coach. I have to give him some lee-way for now, but obviously he is going to take a large portion of the blame.

As a play caller you have a lot of problems calling plays when you can’t trust anyone. You are afraid to call running plays because the offensive lines is so inconsistent and undisciplined. You have a QB you can’t trust to make smart decisions with the football. Garrett is calling a scared game. I honestly don’t blame him, i probably would too.

In the end, Garrett and Romo are joined at the hip. Their success lies in each other.

This season is going to be full of growing pains. Unfortunately time is running out. We are wasting too many opportunities. You held the #1 offense to 20 points. Wasted opportunity...again.

We're in luck!

Brian Waters was just released and is on the FA market, we should definitely snatch him up!

..and there's this guy named Andre Gurode that... oh wait.

@BryanBroaddus Could u shed light as to why Dez isnt getting 2nd half looks? Is he running poor routes, bad conditioning, or is it on Romo?

BryanBroaddus Bryan Broaddus @
@DCUforums Conditioning is a factor but don't use that as an excuse. Have you noticed some of Romos poor throws have been to him? Watch.

To be honest, i don't see any throws going Dez's way in the second half to begin with. I guess the one or two that have gone to him have been nowhere near him.
