As Rob Ryan (unofficially) gets started here at Valley Ranch this week, the rest of Jason Garrett's coaching staff remains to be finalized.

Hall of Fame offensive lineman and Texans assistant Bruce Matthews returned to work with Houston on Tuesday, according to the Houston Chronicle, after meeting with the Cowboys about a potential assistant offensive line coach position on Monday. Former Cowboys tight end Dan Campbell is also a candidate, and he indeed visited Valley Ranch again on Tuesday.

Although not confirmed by the team, it appears Cowboys linebackers coach Reggie Herring will meet with the Texans today. The Cowboys had previously declined the Texans permission to speak with Herring, but Ryan's impending arrival could change the scope of the defensive staff. Defensive line coach Paul Pasqualoni has already left for UConn.

On the offensive side, a responsibility or two could shift, and Garrett must name or hire a wide receivers coach.

Everything's still fluid around here, and that's probably why there haven't been any official announcements yet. Stay tuned.
