Let's pump the brakes here for a second. People are talking get rid of this guy, get rid of these guys, bring in so and so and things will change. Here's our reality...

First, no actual change will take place until actual football people are in charge. It doesn't matter if Jerry switches his hours or adjusts his focus, doesn't matter who he brings in as the next coach or what players are added. As long as he's moron elect this team will be a disaster in waiting.

Second, even if the entire Jones family is abducted by aliens tomorrow there is no quick turnaround. Even if this offseason brings about our dream scenario, there are only two possible ways it will go.

Outcome #1: You get rid of everyone. With the dead cap money you're still paying them, the next four or five years you field a team that wouldl maybe be .500 in the USFL.

Outcome #2: You move who you can when you can, cutting when applicable and making smart trades. Full steam moves can get when Dak's contract is off the books, since I highly doubt any team would be dumb enough to take enough of it on when they wouldn't have to. So as with Outcome #1, four or five years minimum. There are no quick fixes, even if Jerry suddenly was willing to get on board with running this team in a valid, winning fashion; which we all know wouldn't happen if he was visited last night by three ghosts.

Oh, and they're going to get throttled again this week. 27-13 Washington.

Have no idea why they'd bother to play Cooks at this point in the season.

Kneeland coming back would be a big + though, he needs all the reps he can get and he was showing real upside before he got hurt.

How shitty are the Cowboys?

Despite Washington's surprising season where they are challenging for a division title/playoff spot, they didnt flex the game to 4:25 and the game itself is probably the least important/attractive of the FOX 1:00pm games.

IMHO, the problem with what you wrote is that it isn't based on realism. Is it possible that both Jerry and Stephen decide to step down? Sure, I suppose anything is possible. How realistic is it?

So, as fans, we (I think) have to try to argue within the realm of reality. So that's why talking about getting rid of this person and bringing in that person makes sense because it's based on being realistic.

We ALL know the leadership is the problem!

Regarding outcome 2. The Steelers are paying Russell Wilson 1.2 million. His cap hit is 1.2 million. 38 million is being paid by the Broncos. So it might be possible to make a move here and a move there.

BUT, Dak takes up 33% of the cap next year. Unless Dak is the most greedy player in the NFL (might be) that has to be restructured. His base alone is 47.7 million in 2025, which is more than the Broncos are paying to not have Russell Wilson in 2024.

The percentage might also go down as a result of the cap going up, but if Dak truly wants to win that raw number must go down significantly.

However, I think the Broncos are out of the contract entirely in 2025, so then they have a good cheap young QB in Bo Nix (assuming he is healthy and continues his development). They'll also have cap space.

In other words, you can recover from bad decisions by not compounding them. But the trillion dollar question is can Jerry and Stephen make the right decisions because they are not likely to be going anywhere.

A Dallas Cowboys Universe Official Warning to member Maveric has been issued.

Reason- Misleading Universors with "disinformation"

There is absolutely no evidence to support that the Cowboys can stay within two touchdowns of the Washington Football Team. Please edit your posting accordingly.

Well, technically a TD is 6 points, so two TDs is 12 points. Which would put the score outside the margin of two TDs. 🤣🤣🤣

Memo to potential shoppers, they'll be half of that by Monday

Sounds like the sold out games streak is in jeopardy.

It would also conflict with Packers-Frisco.

Do local blackout rules still apply?

It'd be fucking hilarious if the game isnt on local TV in Dallas for Thanksgiving.

Part of the problem are the jackasses who work for the team and pretend to be journalists.

Like I was reading on the Commanders (such a stupid name) website early in preseason that the rumor was that they thought they found themselves a real QB. Everyone was being quietly optimistic, but they were, "shit, I think we might have something here".

So I wrote to the Mailbag after reading one of Eatman's (I think it was) pie in the sky articles and I asked, shouldn't you guys on all of these various shows also be aware of what other teams are doing? I asked, if the Commanders found a real QB then doesn't that change the dynamics of the NFC East?

Crickets! Apparently these were not a questions they thought was worth contemplating. Maybe it would hurt season ticket sales.

So no surprise at all given that we knew that Washington had a good deal of talent and the only thing holding them back was a QB. Ron Rivera must be pissed.
