..and I'm not even talking about voiding out the Roy Williams trade. I'm just using the actual selctions we made.
The 2009 Draft was a debacle. Homers will say it was a bad overall draft and that somehow excuses the awful picks Jerry made.
I realize you can do this in every draft and no one hits on 100% of their picks. I just wanted to point out some of the players we could have had and what a difference it would have made with the current team's depth.
3rd (69) Jason Williams LB (Cut) - Pick could have been Michael Johnson DE/OLB from Georgia Tech.
3rd (75) Robert Brewster OL (Cut twice and out of football) - Pick could have been Mike Wallace WR from Ole Miss. Ouch.
4th(101) Stephen McGee QB (don't really mind this pick) - Pick could have been TJ Lang T from Eastern Michigan.
4th(110) Victor Butler OLB - staying with this pick.
4th(120) Brandon Williams OLB (Cut)- Pick could have been Greg Toler CB from St. Paul's College.
5th(143) DeAngelo Smith CB (Cut) - Pick could have been James Casey TE from Rice.
5th(166) Mike Hamlin S (Cut) - Pick could have been Javon Ringer from Michigan State. Goodbye Marion Barber.
5th(172) David Buehler K - Pick could have been Morgan Trent CB from Michigan.
6th(197) Stephen Hodge S (Cut) - Pick could have been Myron Pryor NT from Kentucky.
6th(208) John Phillips TE (also okay with this pick) - Pick could have been Captain Munnerlyn CB/KR from South Carolina. (since already drafted James Casey earlier)
7th(227) Mike Mickens CB (Cut) - Pick could have been Jamarca Sanford S from Ole Miss.
7th(229) Manuel Johnson WR (Cut) - Pick could have been Julian Edelman WR from Kent State.
Also, Arian Foster went undrafted this year.
Could you imagine our depth???
