What the No. 1 need this off-season?

Let's approach this from a different angle. Rather than prioritizing positions, I'd say the Cowboys need to come out of this off-season by finding at least two more players on defense who are capable of making plays and an interior offensive lineman who has Pro Bowl potential.

What's your philosophy on drafting for need vs. drafting best player available?

The Cowboys have so many needs I'd argue it should be easy for them to draft the best player available because it should fill one of their needs. In my mind, need is the tiebreaker. If you have two or three players rated equally on your board when it's time to pick, they are prioritized by need.

Assuming the right player is there when the Cowboys pick, I think their first priority should be someone who can rush the QB and second improving the interior of the offensive line. What do you think?

A strong argument can be made that is what the Cowboys should do with the first pick. There is a bigger falloff in talent from the pass rusher you get at No. 14 and the one you pick up in the second round than from the corner you pick at No. 14 to the one you pick in the second round. But if you have an offensive linemen or cornerback that ranks above all other players on your board at that spot, I wouldn't have a problem turning there.

David who are some free agents you think the Cowboys may target this offseason?

There are some interesting names. It's my belief the Cowboys must address their needs in the secondary through free agency moreso than the draft. If you buy that stance, Tennessee's Courtland Finnegan and Atlanta's Brent Grimes are two names to keep in mind. Both are cornerbacks and either would upgrade the position appreciably. Carl Nicks, Ben Grubbs and Scott Wells are some interior offensive linemen to keep in mind.

Early prediction: let's hear how you think the NFC East shakes out next fall, 1-4.

If the Giants open next season the way they finished this one, it's hard not to put them at the top. But remember what happened the last time this team won the Super Bowl? Let's just say they didn't put up a spirited defense of their title.

At this moment, I'd go with Philadelphia to win the division -- they showed signs at the end of last season that their grand chemistry experiment was coming together -- New York second, Dallas third and Washington fourth.

Will Dez Bryant ever make the Pro Bowl?

Bryant has the talent to make the Pro Bowl at some point in his career. But let's break this down a little further.

Who are the top receivers in the NFC. In no particular order, they are Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Roddy White, Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, Steve Smith, Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, Marques Colston and Miles Austin. Bryant will have to move into the upper echelon of that group to make the Pro Bowl.

Do you think the boys will sign Robinson? If not he can replace him with the production he gave us last year?

Robinson wants to stay. But what if another team comes in and is willing to pay him as a starting, No. 2 receiver? The Cowboys have already invested a lot of money in the wide receiver position. Can they afford to tie up that much more in one position? I don't think you will see the Cowboys pay Robinson as a No. 2 receiver, but they must come close and I think they should. How can you look at Hakeem Nicks , Victor Cruz and Mario Manningham and compete by allowing your most effective red zone option to leave?

Does Stephen Jones agree with Jerry Jones on not hiring a gm?

I would argue Stephen is the day-to-day general manager of this team much more than his father. To me, the issue is the random manner in which Jerry Jones inserts himself into the decision making process.

He is saying what many of us believe about this gm scenario here, it's like a shared title where Jerry is probably the voice and face of the team in the media.

But it has appeared for awhile that Stephen is doing alot.

And that makes me kind of nervous, I think this front office has really struggled and for all the people who hate Jerry and blame him there are a number of people in the front office who don't really have much background of success and that is also the case with our coaching staff....alot of inexperience and alot of average play from the vet coaches.

I hope we have a great offseason and turn it around this year to build on the last two years decent off seasons.

Why not draft BPA that fits a need?
