Think it's worth copying and pasting the McGinn scouting report on Booker that dbair posted in the other draft thread...
“Heavy-handed, flexible, strong, smart, good athlete. Not a great puller or second-level guy but he’s a really good in-line player, run and pass. He’d be our starting right guard yesterday. Guards typically don’t go in the first round but he will. He could play some right tackle in some power schemes.” Five-star recruit from New Haven, Conn., and IMG Academy. “A guard like this, you could take him (first round),” said a third scout. “He’s not super talented or dynamic in any way but he’s big, moves well enough, plays on his feet, good football intelligence, he works. He’ll be good.” Arms were 34 ½ inches, size 11-inch hands were the largest at the position. “I don’t know if he’ll be a solid starter but I don’t think you’ll miss on him,” said a fourth scout. “I have him in the second round but you’ve got to find 32 and he may be one of those 32.” Tested poorly. Vertical jump (27 inches), broad jump (7-10) and bench-press reps (21) were the worst at the position.
GUARDS

There’s some maturity there.” Rotated at both guards in 2022 before starting 25 games at left guard in 2023-’24. He's going to be a good player, but wished we could have moved down a few spots and got another pick or two.
3 pure interior OL's went in first 24 picks so teams arnt exactly shying away from them.

2 more interior OL's went after him, including Zabel at 18 and Jackson at 24. Booker was rated higher than them so its unlikely we could have moved that far.
There was also the oddity of NO trades after the Jax/Browns trade until the Giants moved up to 25, which means there probably was no real value being offered.
That said, I would have liked this more had we been able to move at least a few spots down and get him.

We just got an old school smash mouth special. Kid has a great football attitude.
Our interior OL is a real strength now and that's a big plus in a division with the DL's (especially the DT's we see for 6 of our games every yr.

0 sacks and only a few pressures allowed all season. Some miniscule number of "missed blocks" as well.
Kid's a good player with a real nasty streak. Just wished we could have at least gotten a 3rd or 4th to move down a few spots and still get him.

Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones have openly defected both opportunities to speak and offer analysis to Brian Schottenheimer and Will McClay in their press conference following the selection of Tyler Booker. I recognize where the bar is here and not saying everything has changed, but this is in fact some change of scenery for how they operate. The Jones gentlemen are purposefully stepping back and letting other people be the faces of their team.

Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones said that everyone had a long debate yesterday about Tyler Booker and another player for over 30 minutes. Said it was funny how that exact scenario presented itself at 12. Team sources say that other player was Ole Miss DT Walter Nolen.

He’s a damn good football player. Is there a little bit learning curve where they have to learn their stance and sets and things like that, but at the end of the day it’s football and you go one way really really fast and if somebody gets in your way you knock the shit out of them.” What a quote. Our fan base is up in arms because we didn't get another weapon for Dak. Dak is predominantly a one-read QB that spams the ball to CeeDee anyway, so that would have been a waste of a 1st round pick imo.
Besides, there's still a lot of very good no.2 WR options still on the board. Jayden Higgins, Jack Bech, Kyle Williams and Chimere Dike are all options I like.
One of the priorities for Day 2 should also be slot CB imo. We didn't/haven't replaced Jourdan Lewis yet (Elam isn't a slot CB). Someone like Jacob Parrish in the 3rd round would be ideal.
