I think jobs is right to a certain extent. A lot of those jobs were moved to China are never coming back. But that doesn't mean we cannot rebuild our own manufacturing capacity
It's a matter of national security and sovereignty. Part of the long term plan to destroy us is make us unable to manufacture. Make us completely unskilled, generationally.

Absolutely, as the war in Ukraine is showing us, despite what analysts saying about the next wars being over in days, the reality is we should be prepared for prolonged conflicts where manufacturing capacity is going to win or lose the war.

In history, the vast oceans insulated us from invasion on our own soil (leaving out of course, the early invasions by European powers.) Now they're sufficiently weaponized against us because we've become SO dependent on imports. Major war interrupts commerce even on a medium scale, and we're dead in the water literally, and vulnerable both economically and strategically. This is what puppet Selensky let slip out when he told Trump we've "enjoyed the ocean but soon no more."
